You're Not Crazy, You're Hurt
Maybe you're wondering if you're losing your mind - the obsessing, the checking, the rage one minute and numbness the next, the feeling that you're 'too much.' You're not crazy. You're a person who was deeply hurt, and possibly lied to, and this is what that does to a human heart. Especially if you were deceived for a long time, the self-doubt itself is part of the injury.
The doubt is part of the wound: When you've been lied to - maybe told you were imagining things - it's no wonder you question your own mind. That doubt was planted; it isn't the truth about you. You're not crazy. You're hurt.
The thoughts that make me feel crazy
Tick what you've been doing or feeling.
- [ ] I can't stop thinking about it
- [ ] I'm searching or checking obsessively
- [ ] I swing between extremes
- [ ] I feel like I'm 'too much' or overreacting
- [ ] I doubt my own memory or perception
- [ ] I feel like I'm the problem
Which of these scares me most about myself?

The reframe
Next to each 'crazy' thought is what it actually is.
Example — What feels crazy: I can't stop obsessing · What it actually is: My mind trying to make sense of a threat - a normal trauma response
Example — What feels crazy: I question my own perception · What it actually is: The effect of being deceived, not a flaw in me
Example — What feels crazy: ... · What it actually is: ...
You're not crazy, you're hurt - and hurt heals: Everything you're feeling is a sane response to an insane situation. You don't need to be fixed; you need to be supported and to heal. You deserve compassion right now, including from yourself.
