It Wasn't About You
One of the cruelest lies betrayal whispers is that it happened because of something about you - you weren't enough, weren't attractive enough, weren't enough in bed, didn't do enough. It wasn't about you. Compulsive sexual behavior is about his wounds and his coping, and it almost always predates you. This worksheet helps you put the blame back where it belongs.
His behavior was his to own: People whose partners give them everything still act out, because the behavior was never really about the partner. It is not a verdict on your worth, your body, or your love.
The lies betrayal tells
Tick the ones you've found yourself believing.
- [ ] It's because I'm not enough
- [ ] I'm not attractive / desirable enough
- [ ] If I were better in bed, he wouldn't have
- [ ] I should have seen it / prevented it
- [ ] I drove him to it
- [ ] If I'd been different, this wouldn't have happened
The lie I've been believing most:

The truth
This was about his stuff - his history, his wounds, his way of coping or escaping - long before you were ever in the picture. There is no version of you that could have been 'enough' to prevent a compulsion that lives in him.
If I fully believed this wasn't about me, what would change in how I feel?

You did not cause this: You could not have caused it, and you could not have cured it. It was never your job to be enough to prevent someone else's choices. Put that weight down - it was never yours to carry.
