Building My Outer Circle

If the inner and middle circles are about what you're moving away from, the outer circle is what makes recovery worth it - the healthy behaviors, relationships, and activities that build the life and person you actually want. A recovery built only on 'don't' runs out of fuel. The outer circle is where the 'do' lives, and where you spend more and more of your time as you heal.

You can't just subtract - you have to add: An empty space where the behavior used to be is dangerous. The outer circle fills that space with things that genuinely feed you, so there's less room and less reason to drift back.

One outer-circle behavior I'll add this week:

Recovery is a life you build, not just a behavior you stop: The goal isn't a smaller life with a hole where the behavior was - it's a bigger life that crowds the behavior out. Every hour in your outer circle is an hour building the person you're becoming.
